Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the English-speaking skills of students at Miftahul Midad Islamic Boarding School in Lumajang through game-based learning by integrating various interactive and engaging activities into the learning process, such as role-play, guessing games, gamified language learning apps (Kahoot, Quizlet, etc.), charades, word chain, flashcards, and storytelling. The training involved 71 students who were categorized into Basic and Intermediate levels based on their initial abilities and took place over three months. This program was designed to create a supportive learning environment that encourages active participation, helping students feel comfortable and confident when speaking English. The evaluation results indicate a significant improvement in students' speaking skills, particularly in terms of confidence, vocabulary mastery, and communication fluency. Furthermore, the program not only enhanced technical speaking skills but also created an enjoyable and relevant learning experience tailored to the students' needs, making it an effective training model for implementation in Islamic boarding schools. This positive impact highlights the importance of innovative methods in English language teaching to prepare students for the challenges of global communication.
