This study aims to investigate the types of translation strategies, grammatical equivalence, and accuracy in translating English into Indonesian. The data were taken from the movie script entitled “Guardians of the Galaxy” in English and its Indonesian subtitles. This study was conducted using qualitative research methods and descriptive analysis. According to the findings of the analysis, there are eight strategies found in the subtitles used by translators, with the transfer strategy being the most frequently used in this study. Then, there is grammatical equivalence and non-equivalence found in the subtitles, which were then classified into person, number, gender, tense, aspect and voice used by the translator, with grammatical non-equivalence being the most prevalent in this study. In terms of translation quality, 185 (82.22%) of the data are accurate, 39 (17.33%) data are less accurate, and 1 (0.44%) datum is not accurate. Finally, it is found that there are some relations between strategies and grammatical equivalence to the translation accuracy in this study. They are strategies that result in grammatical equivalence and accurate translation, strategies that result in grammatical equivalence but less accurate translation, strategies that result in grammatical non-equivalence and less accurate translation, and strategies that result in grammatical non-equivalence and inaccurate translation.
