KEPEMIMPINAN PONDOK PESANTREN DALAM UPAYA PENINGKATAN MUTU SANTRI DI PONDOK PESANTREN FATHUL FALAH DUSUN PARASGOWANG DESA PANDANARUM

Islamic boarding school leadership is an effort to influence the subordinates who are led. In this case, what is meant is that caregivers provide their students with the responsibility to carry out boarding school activities that have been planned in accordance with the desired goals effectively and efficiently. Fathul Falah Islamic Boarding School is an Islamic boarding school located in Parasgowang hamlet, Pandanarum village, Tempeh subdistrict, Lumajang district, which was established in 2018. Because it is located in a residential area and close to the Southern Cross Route (JLS), this Islamic boarding school is easy to reach and its existence is known to the wider community.
The focus of the problem examined in this mini research is: 1) What is the leadership style of the Islamic boarding school in an effort to improve the quality of students at the Fathul Falah Parasgowang Islamic Boarding School, Pandanarum village, 2) What is the Islamic boarding school leadership strategy in an effort to improve the quality of students at the Fathul Falah Parasgowang Islamic Boarding School, Pandanarum village.

The objectives of this research are: 1) Describe the leadership style of Islamic boarding schools in an effort to improve the quality of students at the Fathul Falah Parasgowang Islamic Boarding School, Pandanarum village, 2) Describe the Islamic boarding school leadership strategy in an effort to improve the quality of students at Fathul Falah Parasgowang Islamic Boarding School, Pandanarum village.
To identify these problems, this research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Determining research subjects was purposive, while data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation methods.
The data analysis technique uses descriptive qualitative with the Miles Huberman interactive model with the steps: 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) data display, 4) data conclusion/verification. The data validity method uses source triangulation and technical triangulation. This research concluded: 1) the leadership at the Fathul Falah Parasgowang Islamic Boarding School in Pandanarum village has carried out its duties in accordance with its leadership by implementing a charismatic leadership style, which prioritizes the self-authority of a leader as demonstrated by a high sense of responsibility towards his subordinates, 2) The strategy used by the leadership of the Fathul Falah Parasgowang Islamic Boarding School in Pandanarum village in improving the quality of students is increasing human resources and creating teacher competency improvement programs such as training. The teaching staff there improves the quality of students by providing subjects that support the mission of the institution.
