UPAYA PEMERINTAH DAN LEMBAGA PENDIDIKAN ISLAM DALAM MENERAPKAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI INDONESIA

Abstract

eveloping the potential of students to become human beings who believe and are devoted to God Almighty, have noble character, are healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent and become democratic and responsible citizens is a function of national education. Likewise, Islamic educational institutions, as an integral part of the national education system, have an important role in implementing character education in accordance with Islamic principles. This research uses qualitative methods and literature study research. Secondary sources were used, namely reviews from journals, textbooks and publication indexes. Using data collection techniques, researchers will explore data according to discussions regarding the efforts of the government and Islamic educational institutions in implementing character education. This research aims to explore what efforts are made by the government and Islamic education institutions to shape student character and what strategies are used to shape good student character. The results of the research are that the government is holding several programs including (a) Integrating Character Education in the Curriculum with everyday life. (b) Teacher training which needs to be inspired in implementing the characters that will be emulated by students. (c) The government provides resources and learning materials that support character development. (d) The government encourages educational institutions to organize extracurricular activities. (e) The government collaborates with non-government agencies, non-governmental organizations and private companies that have programs or initiatives that support character development. (f) Evaluation and monitoring through surveys of students, teachers, parents and school staff to assess the program's implications for building student character. Through these efforts, Islamic educational institutions strive to produce individuals who have strong character towards Islamic values ​​in everyday life.
